Body and Shackle Lift VS Spring Lift?
Body and Shackle Lift VS Spring Lift?
Ok well im going to lift my Sierra in the next few weeks but wanted to know a few things. Willl i fit and have decent articulation with 31"s and only Body Lift and Extended Shackles? I know it would be better to go Spring lift and Extended Shackles but i dont think i can afford it before The End of the year and i kinda want this done for New Years Rover park trip.
Whats yours Veiws? Are there any other options? is there anything im not seeing here?
TIA

I have 31's with just a 2" bl but they rub under compression at full lock. I also had to do some love makin to the front bumper To stop rubbing altogether with just 2" lift you need to move the front diff about 1" forward which I'll be doing with RUF (someday ). You can lift it more to stop rubbing but remember its stuffing your COG. For every inch you go up you wanna go the same out to maintain stability.
Lifted leaf springs don't flex better The extra flex is a function of spring quality not lift Lifted springs of the same quality would probably flex worse if anything

2" lift spring by TJM(i think another company sells exactly the same springs under a different name) for $100 a peice im pretty sure thats not even that cheap but. There are alot of suspension places you would be better to go and see.

Leaf springs are usually more expensive. Ive been quoted between 200 to 300 per spring! So 100 sounds cheap to me also.
my OME's cost around $650 for four of them i think.... $100ea is hell cheap, but the ride may be harsh - go for soft springs.
u'll fit 31's with just the 2" bodylift, which ya can do for less than $100 (i think "high n mighty" might even sell ya some blocks for cheap)... ya will rub a bit on the guards but that's no big deal. go offset rims for a bit of extra width and ya won't rub on the springs (use garden edging from bunnings to extend your flares). your gearing is gonna suck tho
search for bodylift and u'll find plenty of info here
