2nd comp in Rangie - no damage, What am I doing wrong?

2nd comp in Rangie - no damage, What am I doing wrong?
My wife and I completed our second comp last weekend (4/5th Dec), the Navnite at Warbuton, Vic. The 9pm start was not as bad as I thought it would be, but at the completion of the final stage (around 3am) and the drive home…when the adrenalin started to wear off I really felt it
We had a great time, I am starting to get more confident in the Rangie after our disaster at the vicwinch, the ability to disengage the ARB front locker faster than a Maxidrive up hill on rocks is proving an advantage.
Highlight of the night...wining stage 2…….worst part?.. our last stage for the night when my team mate decided to run of the track halfway along the stage causing a DNF.
What is getting me worried is we did not break anything , I certainly was not taking it easy and there was a lot of rocks……maybe the Rover gods are building up for a big one .

May be on a lucky streak
Like HSV Rangie mentioned, once you get rid of the 10 spline Rover crap your chance of breakge is minimal. I do have to agree with you about the ARB air lockers disengaging quicker than maxi's, but I still prefer the latter as far as Locking diff concern, but that's a persoanl prefernce.
Glad you hear you didn't break anyhting and enjoyed the evening, because that's what it's all about isn't it!!
Regards,
Trav

Jason - Good run
Glad to hear it went well. Are you doing the Simex next year?

If you don't mind me asking Jason, you say you have an air locker in the front end, what axles and cv setup do you have?
The front axles are Maxis the CV's are stock. I am going to try a set of Kermit's custom cv's in the near future.
We are cautious of when / where we engage the front locker, and not shock loading the front end
Glad to hear it went well. Are you doing the Simex next year?
Bruce, At this stage I am unsure... I'm trying to see if I will be ready for the 2005 OBC, I don't want to push my luck and break something
