Samurai axels on a feroza???

Post by Borisovich »

What do people think?
For example - if I put a calmini 5.83 into a samurai axls and fit them to feroza... i think i'll be able to put 33" tyres, and have a minimum loose in gearing...

am i right?

Would they be strong enough given the Feroza is heavier and more powerful?

What about the widths- the Sierra diffs wouldn't be anywhere near as wide as a widetrack Feroza?

Maybe a narrow track feroza but not a wide track.
A wide track feroza is 3 inches wider then a lux.

which would make it about 6" wider than a wide track sierra at an educated guess. 9" wider than a nt sierra :?

Is the wideness the only difference?

In my earlier days, I had swapped at Vitara rear axle into my widetrack Feroza. There was only a 3" difference in width which was overcome by getting extra offset on the rear wheels.

The problem then lies in the small difference in ratios.....Feroza=5.27?? and the Vitara=5.17. Because there was less than a 10% difference, I didn't notice any diff 'wind-up' problems running in 4wd.

BUT NOW......................

I would recommend the Hilux swap rear and front ..... and 35" tyres :D
