gq & gu rear coil springs

Post by cookie monster »

hey frank,
in your discussions regarding you sas conversion, you mentioned that gq rear coil springs go straight in to the rear of the paj.
my question is- are gu rear coils the same as gq and what is the standard uncompressed length of coil on a diesel nl rear?
a friend has std rear coils from a 2.8td gu going spare. wondered if they were longer than std paj rears (cheap upgrade?).

I asked Cheezy today and he said the standard height GQ/GU rear coils would give around a 2" lift in his opinion but a stiffer ride as the springs are thicker.
