Has anybody seen/used powabeam lights?? They are an Australia company & produce these excellent lights. I have a 9" spot that I use for shooting/spotlighting with. It easily lights up kanga's 1500m away (not that I can shoot them at that distance )
Mine only uses a 100w globe & produces a very clear light. Well worth looking into, to see if they do driving lights. From memory my 9" spot only cost me $125 about 6months ago.
They are the ones you often see mounted to swivels, sticking through the rook of cruiser utes, when travelling in Western QLD. Lots of hunters use them.
for people worried about the theft risk for driving lights jaycar sell a cheap kit (20$?) that connects the driving light loom into most car alarms. if the cables are cut/or the circiut broken then the alarm triggers.
i reckon this would be a must for HID owners.

Those powerbeam hunting spot lights are pretty flash. When I was looking to get one of these the bloke said that they are comparable to the lightforce 240's. (240's are also offered in a kit for roof mounting and hunting).
Pretty much the same size as lightforce however they are made from stainless steel I think......
2 X 240 HID
2 X 240 Blitz with spread filters, all on roof
HID bi-zenon headlight inserts
Worth every cent, save me $ in panel damage every night, didn't have to upgrade my alternator, provide endless hours of enjoyment watching people shaking their heads and asking why you need 'so many big lights'.
If I cant be fast or capable, I may as well see where I'm (not) going......

Yes they are stainless steel. I love the output, even after 1500m the spot light is still tight, no bigger than 3m in diametre. Great for shooting.
got 4 bosch 100w compass lights on the rollbar
they're pretty bright
looks like i'll be changing over to lightforce 170z

1 concept that needs attention by manufacturers is the theft option. Too many of these are getting pinched and they need to come out with a locking device to stop the little boys doing five finger discounts. They won't stop the pros but they are a real minority, just need to stop the boy with a shifter and pliers.
there is a new design in the 240blitz, they have the same look as the HID's only bad thing is now cause of the new design, they don't have adjustable beams.
4 IPF with the gas hir globe due to a 60 amp alternator was told the benifit of the light was they have a metal frame n base wich was less vibration n shaking and no broken base from the weather taking its toll on them
I saw a cruiser at a panel beaters a couple of months ago and it had run up the back of someone else. the bull bar was pushed back and the two lightforce spotties were pushed through the grill. They were still intact. awsome lights.
I have
2 x IPF (crap)
4 x hella 180`s or something like that. (crap)
2 x hella 2000 (not to bad)
2 x LF 170`s (better then the H 2000)
2 x LF XGT`s (me like, but still want HID`s)
Oh and this is over 2 4x4`s and a shelf in the shed Only the XGT`s are on a rig ATM
