hi new owner here

Post by rocky raider »

hi heres is my intro my name is Jeff i live in Redmond Oregon
recently got a 1990 rocky for $300.00. it sat for 3 years. now has a new entire cooling system....radiator...water pump...several hoses....heater core.....themostat and housing
ran rough because the coolant line near the distributor cap leaked liquid into the cap and killed the spark

got all the stuff above fixed and it died like outta gas on the highway. it cranks and has spark but the injectors dont cycle and the fuel pump doesnt come one(it used to come on right away when the ing switch was in "on" position)

so at the moment it is just a display model in my driveway
hope some here can hook me up with advice or parts
Jeff

update it runs now i got a new fuel injection computer and voila it off and running

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this part of the site, I previously lurked on the Toyota and Suzuki sections... my other half (SmurfX AKA Mark) drives our '93 Toyota Surf. I used to co-pilot but got sick of having to fight for a drive, so I went and got me a Feroza.
I used to have a 1990 Feroza a few years ago but I cooked the engine on that one so this is number two
Took the Ferozaahhh for a spin off road to a local fourby haunt called Wilbinga a couple of days ago and was very happy with how it went.
I've got some mods planned..... the plan is to get some 30" muddies, maybe extractors, extended shackles - all the good stuff :D
At the moment everything is stock standard. :)

Hi all,

Just finished modding my rocky as you can see in the avatar. I have just rebuilt the gearbox because I knocked a couple of teeth off one of the gears also fitted new clutch and machined flywheel. Did a few seals to fix all the leaks. Fitted a new radiator. I fitted hilux diffs with 33 inch simex jungle teckers, fitted high steer arm and had the tailshafts cut and shut. It is a lot better 4wd now with a heaps lower low range. I am thinking about selling it if any one is interested cause i want to get into something bigger. Feel free to email me at bplatten@adam.com.au

Cheers,
Ben

G'day,

My name is Sherrie.
My partner, Andrew and I share a 1993 Daihatsu Feroza SXP II. Andrew's the main driver, as I'm still on my bloody learners!!

The Roza's got:
30x9.5 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Tyres.
5 Spotlights on the roof - all wired up!!
Bullbar
Two spotlights on the bullbar
Daikin Heavy Duty Clutch
And all the basic stuff you can find on a standard Feroza.

In the future, we plan to do the following mods:
2 inch body lift
Customised Bullbar - Andrew plans to make it.
Snorkel - just gotta get more info and of course, money!!

Here's the Feroza.

It's an old photo... we only recently put the spotlights on.

hi all,
i've been lurking here for a bit and learning lots of valuable information.
i just recently purchased a 91 feroza el3.

the only good thing it came with was a rusted bullbar and winch thats not wired up and i have my doubts as to whether the winch works at all.

ive had it one week and so far i have:
ground out the rust and repainted the bullbar.
installed a blackwidow bw10000 alarm/mobilizer
installed a stereo which includes pioneer 4" splits in the front, jbl 6x9's in custom panels in the back, mtx 10"sub, running off kicker and alpine amps.
rampod for some better intake.

planned mod's which may or may not happen depending on how i feel..
black sunrayisers with 30's
2" suspension lift
rust proofing as she will be seeing mostly beach work.

just like to say thanks to everyone on here who are most helpful.
here is a pic of the car, nothing to special on the outside...

Hello All!

My name's Jon and I live in sunny old England.
Hope you like the user name I picked, though it might amuse
as most of you are Aussies. ;)

I picked up my first 4x4 this weekend (woo-hoo!)
It's a 1996 Sportrak (or Feroza as you guys call it) ELXi
in Burgundy/Silver.
Been driving around for the hell of it - and I love it! :D

No mods or anything yet, hell it hasn't even got a radio!
First job is a damn good service, I'll probably roll up my
sleeves, dust off the toolkit and have a go myself (Mechanic's
rates are silly here in the UK - more so when they see a 4x4
coming) :x

Sorry about all the brackets (I like 'em) by the way.

Cheers people,

Jon.

Gday hows it goin,
Rob from canberra here, picked up my 89 f300 bout a week ago and couldnt be happier, been with daihatsu since i first got my licence 6 years ago (charades) and now out on the property and getting into the 4wd thing. Only seemed 1 choice for me and that is Feroza from the same era! I got the car cheap, but the repairs and gettin it on the road are all adding up to a decent price, about 5300 when every thing is done (rego insurance repairs). Will surely look at modding in the future, looks like a very fun little project there. Anyways hope to get to know you all, seem like a pretty mad bunch... heres some pics ;)

Hey - names Drewe, just got the red/silver Feroza Friday lunch time - usually a sports car kind of guy, thought I would try something different so I can beach it and stuff on Straddie/Moreton.

As far as I can tell it is pure stock apart from the tyres and CD player - exhaust nearly rusting off and suspension looks a bit slack, panels have seen a few too many 4WD outings i fear, but it is a start! will beat it back to shape then a custom paint jobby I think, 2" exhaust and a little lift.....

Hi everyone,
Another newbie here, my names Peter or PSJ as my friends call me, I live in the hills district in sydney. Just picked up my feroza last week, its a blue/silver 94 cxi with 174k on the clock and stock as a rock. I've been reading the forum for a couple of months, thanks for all the great info! My last two rides were very low datsun 1600s that couldn't even make it over shopping center speed humps without scraping so this is a welcome change for me. I've wanted a feroza for a couple of years now and I'm so happy I've finally got one, it has a Daihatsu bullbar, sidesteps, alpine cd player + 6x9s, unused toolkit and doesn't look like its ever been offroad, that's going to change shortly! I'm new to 4wds(this is my first) although I've always been interested. I love camping and going bush and get the feeling I will be doing a lot more of it in the future. The first mod will probably be new battery terminals and a bigger battery, then I'll start searching for a factory clinometer and volt meter, when I get over the fact of being so high i might start looking at suspension lifts. Again, thanks for all the great info!

Cheers everyone!!!

New Feroza owner.

Post by lkgrainger »

Hello all, I have just purchased a 92mdl Feroza after looking at 25 car yards I decided to go private and it was the first one I looked at and it was that cleen I snapped it up straight away. Inside and out it is micky mouse. I'm new to the 4x4 sceen and this forum so please be gental...LoL

I dont know much about it at the moment, eg; whats stock and whats not, it has a bullbar with 4 spots which I wouldnt think was stock and a engine imobiliser/alarm and a Pioneer CD player, the rear looks a little high so I dont know what the go is with that. When I got it the exhaust has a crack at the exstractors and the muffler is gone, so its going in today to get that fixed, and has two sets of different tyres on it they get fixed tomorrow ( street tyres on the rear and off road on the front ).

I dont know much about it to make a wish list , but I would like the front to be as high as the rear, and maybe a roof rack with a few spots on it, oh and I better have a larger battery to cope with the power needs, and I'm tinkering with turning those tail lights (that dont do nothing but use one reverse light) into fully working tail lights.

Any sugestions by you all would be great , thanks in advance Leigh...

G'day,
I own a 1993 model Daihatsu Rocky, Turbo Diesel. F78 off the top of my head. Great little fourby. Taken it a lot of places I never thought I'd get it. Even a few hairy water crossings, :?.

Living in Port Macquarie at the moment. Have taken this machine all around Aus (from Port to Perth, up through the Kimberly's, Darwin, living in Kakadu for a while, down to Alice, back to Darwin, and shortly she'll be trecking it from Darwin back here to Port via QLD), and barely a problem with her during the whole time. The best vehicle I have ever owned.

Cheers
