Extending BumpStops

Post by nicbeer »

Hey all, I have searched but as pics are down cannot access any old pics.

I need to extend the bumpstops on the rear. The front as well but have not looked properly.

Can I just use some box and a bolt on either sideof the box onto the original bumpstops on the chassis?. Thinking of about 1" down.

cheers

Go buy some 50 x 25 rhs. The front just un bolt extend bolts and put back together.

Rear just tack weld it to the top of the existing bumpstop plate.

Note: I have 50 x 50 in the rear and I crushed it. So make it strong

Cheers Dewse

I was going to use 70x25 or close to that.

What wall thickness did ya use? I got some for nix so if it crushes i will replace it. I am bolting it in as easier for me, as not to easy to access welder.

cheers

I just snapped the shock mount of the chassis so gotta do something about it.

Getting a couple of new new shocks soon and welding the bit back on that broke.

cheers

BTW, go for a drive without shocks on the coily. a fun ride.
