The 84 Hilux came out with a 2L 2.4 litre diesel you can fit in a surf 2.4LT
Turbo diesel, the 3L 2.8 litre diesel, or the 5L 3litre diesel
If you get a 2LT or 5L with a computor controled injector pump you will need to change it to a mechanical pump
You will want to fit a larger exhaust from the manifold if you want to get any real value from the engine, every thing else bolts up
When you get the new engine get it complete as there can be some subtle differences [pulleys etc]
If you want pulling power fit a Commodore V6
If you still want more grunt buy a pig

Hi Adrian
I will get down your way eventually(to much work on at this time) to get the rest of the v6 conversion gear for my car & some fish & prawns from next door yuummmm
In about two months there should be a little less work on then
That flywheel is still sitting at home nice & shiney
I was just curious as I mite be able to get another lux with no motor in it
Thanks
Joe Merredin
My mates got pigs on his farm i'll borrow one of him & stick it under the bonnet & see how it goes

Look after that flywheel and if you dont use it I will have it back
I have been costing up to get 14kg flywheels made
The Dellows flywheel is SG iron and weighs in at 10 kg a little light for offroad use and I don,t like the Marks machined billet steel flywheel that bolts to the auto flex plate
