Taking the doors off?

Post by Ferwoaza »

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has ever taken the doors off their Feroza? I'm thinking it wouldn't be too hard (haven't looked closely yet). Main problem area is probably the cable that runs to the main vehicle with all the power options??

I'm bored with the car and working on new looks heheehe. Go a softtop, removeable doors, change the rollbar, would look good offroad!

Get another pair of doors, cut off the window surrounds. Do the same with the rear door, then go topless at the rear.

Ahh ya get that Moooooooooooose. I got a Rocky, and if ya pull the rear roof off, ya left with the stupid rear door frame and window sticking up all on its own. I once had the rear roof off, took the back door off too, sat the spare behind the rear seat, and hung the plate off a bracket I made. It looked pretty cool. Ive got 2 extra rear doors for mine. Ones going on the camper trailer Im building, The other is gonna be cut down to sill level, so I can run without roof, and it doesnt look stooooopid. I thought the rear windows on the Ferozas were either removeable, or frameless, but wasnt sure.

Cheers

Murray, IIRC there's a plug just inside the door frame (inside the vehicle) that unplugs the wiring loom going to the door. So that shouldn't be a problem.

Geez Murray...............ya got all these plans for the Ferwoaza..BUT ya ain't doin' nuthin' yet !!!!

I removed my roll bar in the hope of getting a rollcage built behind the B pillar, with side braces going through the original holes in the wheel arch 'bits of plastic' OR to the original rear mounting points.

Still wanna do this but my finances have been redirected towards Air Lockers andGearbox !!!

I thought 'bout removing the doors as well..........but that went in the Too-hard Basket !!!

Every time I am just about to do something, something screws up..

I have rego due this month, that's a total of nearly $900. And I have to put a new clutch in, thats $300, and the steering box has developed a leak, that's looking like almost $500 to rebuild, the car needs a full service, thats $150, oh..it was broken into yesterday so 1) I gotta get a decent alarm, thats $350 installed, and I have to get a panel beater to fix the hole in the door and the locks, god knows what that will cost..

And that's just this month...still have to fix some stuff up for the body lift and get it engineered :( :( :(

WHY ????

How many people ignore car alarms ??? Do they actually stop the criminals from breaking in ???

Spend your money on something else !!!

I reckon your cops are getting 'kickbacks' from the local car alarm installer then !

Put some stickers on your windows and get a couple of flashing LED's somewhere on ya dash !!!!

Yep, inspected every year in NSW.

Cost about $15 for the pink slip which is the inspection, then $250 for the rego to the RTA, then $570 for the green slip (CTP insurance). If it's not registered you also need a blue slip...

What a PITA!!

Still...keeps the amount of bombs on the road down..

$501 for 12mths rego here in SA including third party personal- no yearly inspections (but by god do we need them!!! )

If you get an alarm Murray get a microwave interior motion detector added on. Have put one in my Feroza and it will beep whenever someone gets close to the window (ie it will detect motion through the glass and is adjustable). Can also be used with the top off. If you're electrically inclined you can put an Australian Standard alarm in yourself complete with all black wiring, microwave motion detector, two point ignition disable, battery back up siren etc for around $250. Let me know if you want more details.
