Lokka's

Post by wpurchas »

Frank,

with Ref to following from Pajero97 on http://www.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/ re Lokka :

".... The only thing that you lose is the "all wheel drive" via the super select. So your stuck with two drive only on the road. "

Is this correct? Why would this be? As I understand the Lokka, it wil disengage if there is an external force and also, if the cdl is not engaged, why would it be a problem? I can't understand that it can go into a wind-up.

Do you know about this?

Yes thats correct you will not be able to use the super select function on the bitumen with a front auto-locker.
It's not so much a case of wind up is that having the front fully locked and accelerating/changing gear etc makes the car want to lane change and steering control is also more limited.
Do your homework before you commit to this type of locker as they are not for everyone.

Thank's Frank. Not any diffirent to my Rodeo (Triton) which I had before as I could not use 4H on bitumin with the Part time 4X4.

I loose the feature of all wheel drive on bitumin which I only used in rainy conditions. Will adapt to it. As I do regular trips into Africa under treturous conditions, I will prefer the traction advantage to the all wheel feature.
