3/4 buggy suspension setup

I was just reading a copy of the modified 4wd mag that has the articles out of 4wd monthly and it had a suzuki LJ body on a sierra chasis, duel cases 1.6 etc. With 3/4 buggy suspenension in the rear and was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this setup??? And is it possible to have it in the front??? Any Problembs etc.??? wikidzook

Thats LJExtreems Zuk .. it now has way less body work and MQ patrol springs with the 3/4 rear.. it flexs excellent and has no need for buggies up front.

Unless your doing a shackle reversal I would be positively dangerous to do (your front diff would dissapear under the vehicle and probarbly kill you first time you hit the anchors at any decent speed I would say)

Yes Now That i think about it not to good an idea What is a setup that would match the droop of the rear to put up front??? I like the idea as it dusnt change the height but give excelent suspension droop

Any nice long spring will come close, but you won't match the droop of a 3/4 eliptical with a 1/2.

RUF gives a few more inches additional flex.

I have this setup on my Zuk. Have had it for about 6-7 years now with no dramas or problems. It effectively lengthens the spring giving more flex and a nice progressive travel as well. I wouldn't recommend doing it on a SPOA vehicle unless you have a track bar as well.

On road characteristics don't change and I have never encountered an obstacle offroad where I wished I didn't have it. It is very easy to do on a narrow track Sierra a bit more involved on a wide track getting things to line up properly

Just to be clear .. girimbo has this on the rear of his Zuk .. not on the front ..

Im sure i have more travel in the front, but i think this is due to the way my car balances

(weight, front to back) and narrow track spring spacing.

FYI the buggy spring connects chassis and shackle. Does not connect diff

Do you remember the rig or the owner (i didn't think it was gregs zook. I could not find it with a 3/4 search. I have a whole lot of pics of the beast but not of just where it connects to the chassis.

Also on the subject.
1) Does this lift the zook any more at rest?
2) What length or what spring is needed on the main pack.

I shouldn't help here coz it's been discussed so many times.

The white rig from memory is Joel from Vic club.

Greg was talking/thinking about it but not applicable to you coz you got NT. Takes two U bolts to fix to chassis. Use main rear leaf. No it doesn't lift.

Yeh i did that,
its a bit of a mess, its way neater on a narrow track.
Its joshs zuk, and the hunk of sh#$ is sitting in my drive way in bitts.
Any one wanna buy some wide track diffs?
then I can get rid of the rest of it

I'm sure i recall hearing you on a certain drive down cypress hill when you stated that you didn't like the 3/4 for steep desents because it kept lifting up at at back?... but i could be mistaken - after all - that was about 2 years ago - actually, it was probably the last time you drove that car right?

Is this legal in QLD? If so do ya just get a spring cut it in half, Weld or drill and bolt it to the chassis and connect it to the shackle upside down? is that it? Can it be done with lifted springs? Whats the dissadvantages of it? are there any? Can this be done with extended shackles? Should anything be put between the chassis and the spring(if bolted)? Should it be bolted or welded directly above the axle?
