boost gauge

Post by 96hilux »

Where do you connect a boost gauge up to on a 2.8L hilux as the instructions say to connect it to the vacuum system on the intake manifold but there is no vac system on the on the intake?

Have a look at the piping between your turbo and the intake manifold and you should see either a small tapped hole plugged with a bolt or even on the manifold for that matter. If there isn't a spare one you should be able to find a small vacuum sized pipe coming out of the intake somewhere. You may have to tap into that. Or worst case remove some of the piping off the engine all together so you don't get metal shavings into the engine and drill and tap a small outlet. :D

I did this with mine, tapped a hole about 4 inches back from the intake manifold to give a more realistic reading, works a treat.
