gear ratios for my 110
ok how in the, real world, do you all think these ratio's will be for all types of 4x4ing. dd on 32's off road 34-35's. as i haven't done alot of hardcore offroading they are only numbers to me.these are approx, but close enough:
high range low range
1st: 21-1 75-1
2nd: 12-1 43-1
3rd: 8-1 28-1
4th: 6-1 20-1
5th: 4-1 15-1
reverse 20-1 69-1
all thoughts/ideas appreciated

I take it this combo is: R380, LT230 with MD low range gears (and 1.2:1 high), and 4.7's.
I think that 75:1 will be a good crawler gear but too low for a lot of things, so you will do most of your 4x4ing in 2nd and 3rd low, however I think that on 35's you may find yourself wishing for a gear between 1st and 2nd low. However if you have a tweaked Tdi it should still be able to pull the 35's at all times in 2nd so should work quite well.

5th gear will only be 16% lower than standard. i don't have a tacho so i couldn't tell you what revs i'm doing now. basicly 90% of my dd is done with a 1.8 tonne dual axle tailer. normal gearing is not that good especialy 1st gear and reverse, on steep hills i start in low range and double shift into high on the move, not that smoothly all the time either!

The rear is a salisbury (Dana 60) so could probably tow 8 tonnes all day without problems. The front R&P may eventually have issues, depending on which one is used and how much it is abused offroad.
