There are some GQ's that have the large nut, others have the ring with holes in it that you are supposed to use NISSAN SPECIAL TOOL ABC1234 with, or just a hammer and punch :)

You will need seals and lots of grease... LOL
Check wheelbearings while at it, and the top and bottom cone bearings. If you offroad regularly thru mud and water etc, you should do these all probably every 2 trips anyway...

going from mamories...

remove wheel
remove caliper
remove the center hub
undo large center thing, and remove bearings,
remove disc - can be a bitch
undo the plate behind it
remove that stuff, and you will see the CV in there.

If you leave off the brake backing plate ,next time you can undo the 6 17mm bolts behind the disc without taking off the hub assembly.
First remove FWH , then circlip, then ring of bolts and draw complete ass.
If you are stripping and ass. it this way don't let the weight hang on the axle as you can damage the inner axle seal.
Usually GQs break the cage in the CV which means they burr/damage the inner axle spline which leads to premature failure of the replacement joint.
It's usually best to buy a complete 2nd hand axle ass. as the genuine CV's seem to last betterand you get a fresh axle spline with it.
It pays to check the needle roller brg in the stub as sometimes the breakage damages the brg.It also pays to replace the inner axle seal.
