RR engine mount issues
Does anyone out there in Rover land have the same dramas as I seem to have with engine mounts? I dont need to put much torque through them to destroy them. They all seem to simply delaminate from the steel plate.
In case your wondering no I don't chain them down or use turn buckles but to be honest I don't feel I should have to given that I don't compete in this vehicle. I no longer have the 4.3 stroker and are just running a 3.5. Tyres are 35" ET's and I have a front and rear Maxi-Drives and standard gearing. I hardly feel this is reason enough to break them like I do. I actually broke four in one day once.
If anyone has any suggestions of a better option then please let me know as at a little over $50 a pop it starts adding up.

Jags are the go, was killing heaps in my 350 chev rangie, with the change haven't broken any.
Check how close you exhaust is to the mounts, this may be causing problems.

Is there a particular model Jag these engine mounts come from, or are they all the same? I'll be looking myself soon, too! Also, Gearbox mounts - stick the the rangie ones?

I second what Mick said...
QLD Rollers and Liners engine mounts. They work well and he can make them whatever compound you need. You can also use them on a series LR if you cut a couple of them down slightly.

F#ck me swinging those XJ12 mounts are $$$$. I could buy new genuine XJ6 for $55 each but the XJ12 is supposed to be tougher. They are going for around $140 each but I have tracked down a pair for $86 each. I hope they do the trick; I might knock up a torque rod this time I think.
Mick I forgot to ring Sid but if these fail I will. I have his bushes on the rear trailing arms and they are fantastic.

All kitted out now with XJ12 engine mounts. Realistically XJ12 on the engine and XJ6 on the gearbox would probably do or XJ12 on the passenger’s side and XJ6 on the drivers would also probably do. They do look bullet proof.

I once read that Toyota FJ80 mounts work for us and are, as usual, far stronger than stock (what else did they copy and enhance?)
