Auto's must make for a damb interesting ride downhill considering you can't really use engine braking to it's full potential.

Auto anyday.
They have it over manuals everywhere apart from downhills due to 0 engine braking. But can be fixed with torque lockup, or rockhoppers.
No hittin clutch change gear while going up hill, then losing momentum stopping and suffering.
Hit ya clutch while in a bog you fill it with crap.
City driving easier, just put it in D and go.
Easier for slow rock work
easier to do footbrakies...
I was forced into autos when my leg was mashed, but lookin back now, if I had a choice, I would take the Auto, too easy on and offroad.

shit loads cheaper i think retail for around $200 but if your cluey enough you can do it for nothing all your doing is locking up the torque converter which infact gives you your actual engine braking only prob being if you come to a complete stop it will stall

An auto with electronic control is the only way to go - you can fiddle the computer to make them do anything you want.
The only dissadvantage is downhill but the torque converter lockup control helps lots. You can be make it for about 10 bucks... I don't like switching things on and off while I am driving so I added an engine rev bypass that comes in at 600rpm so it won't stall the engine. That cost me a grand total of 60 bucks!

how did you do your rev bypass? is it on a nissan auto
