Panhard bush

Post by stool »

Do i need a press to get the bush`s out of the panhard bar or can i just
use a vice and a bit of tube bigger than the bush and a bit smaller eg
same size as the bush and do it that way

Probably no reason you couldn't do it the way you state but could be a little fiddly and finding/having the right sizes of pipe for small and large could be difficult.

If you are replacing the bush then it may be easier to just cut the outer lips off each side and belt it out with a hammer and socket or similar.

This is what I did to get mine out recently. Putting em in is an easier job.

again search, the part #'s are actually given. You have to buy rear bushes if your doign front, Nissan will try and sell you the whole panhard... Front and rears are same!

in sydney, i think i paid 17 each, i pressed em in using a vice, pushed the old nolethanes out using a but of oil and a screwdrived.

with the new bushes, smear em with grease, so the slide in nice,

About $18 each now. Bushes are same size but steel insert is different in middles.

Panhard bushes
55135-01J01 top (small hole)
55135-01J10 bottom (large hole)

DO NOT use GREASE when putting them in as it may make them go soft .

Use crc/wd40 etc and 2 sockets in vice.
