hilux 2L and 3L manifold compatibility

hilux 2L and 3L manifold compatibility
i have a 3L (2.8 litre) diesel lux and want to put a turbo on it. i have the chance to buy a turbo which is to suit a 2L (2.4 litre diesel) and i am curious if the exhaust manifolds are the same for either models. more so if the stud pattern is the same. i know my lil lux has a turbo off a 2LT (a 2.4 litre diesel turbo off an old surf) and it bolts straight up.
if anyone has any ideas of whats doing, let me know.

no, they aren't. the 2L and 3L heads and manifold patterns are completely different.
the 2L-TII (late 1989 on) and 2L-TE (1990 on, import only) have the same manifold patterns as the 3L, but the earlier 2L and 2L-T are completely different.
the distinguishing feature is the rocker cover - L, 2L, 2L-T have a die cast alloy rocker cover, 2L-TII, 2L-TE, 3L have a pressed steel rocker cover.

You can pick up the oil from the same place the Altinator pump does and then you return the oil into the same place the altinator pump returns. No need to remove the sump.
just a ???? by picking up the oil feed from the alt would you starve the alt for oil and same with return would it not want to block the return oil coming from the alt if it was tocome in at a right angle.
Just question dont want step on toes...
hunterlux has put a turbo off a 2.4 and got the pick up from the side of the block underneath the oil cooler on drivers side and then returned it in to the sump...... is there anything wrong with that setup....

Mr 3o4 on this site has done how RUFF has said on his 3.3l nissan motor and has had no dramas hunterlux has done it his way and has no dramas either if you talk to a turbo shop they say the hole in sump idea..

it was just more of a convienince thing i taped into the oil presure swich hole because the turbo oil lines were bent 4 it & moved the presure switch to the back of the block
i made the return 2 the sump due 2 lack of acess to hydrolic places to get a t piece 4 the alternater + i had a leaky sump so it had 2 b removed anyways

This is how mines setup, just couldn't put the words together properly. Let me know if you want to have a look at it De-Lux.
