Welding spring perches

Post by elgordomuygrande »

Hey all,

This weekend I'm gonna make some new spring perches for my Daihatsu F20 for a spring over conversion. I have some 50mm square tube in the shed but the problem is that due to the narrow width of th axles, I'll have to place one side of the perches on the front axle on the diffhousing, which is cast. I'm not a pro welder so I'm not sure what's the best way to weld the perch to the housing and prevent overheating/cracking.

Got tips??

Cheers Ron
