4runner/hilux with 37's and no Body Lift

Post by cbr »

My runner is about 8" over standard with 37's, rancho springs (rs44044) and a 2" body lift.

So I am thinking of removing the body lift to reduce the overall lift. I have the guards and tubs cut with the front axle moved 1" forward. Anyone fitted 37's on a hilux without a body lift?? Pics!!

I have snakes shock mounts and they just fit with the 2" BL. Should I cut the inner guards to fit the hoops?? Will I have to weld some sheet back over the hole to add some strength to the guard??

I will have to modify the sliders, rear bar, front bar (making a new one anyway), get the radiator modified (as it will be too tall without the BL), message the firewall because of the V8. Is it worth the trouble to reduce the height by 2"??

If you are trying to get it engineered, as you know, every mm counts.

The shock hoops are best shortened (instead of cutting guard- big mistake) and what I did to fit big shock in was put the lower mount on rear side of diff instead of the top.

I think your diff would have to move forward futher than 1" to allow firewall clearance, even with reasonable tub.

Run standard Hilux rears in the front, I think this pushes it forward about 2 inches and I've also pushed my hangers forward 2" to fit the longer springs,

less lift = better centre of gravity  which means you can drive more sh*t.
