Shock options...

Post by hey_all »

Hey guys,

I have a RN36, and looking at getting a 1.5" lift. I just want a cheap option for the shocks. IE. From another vehicle? That I can hopefully get from a wreckers, or off one of you guys?

Thanks..

RN36 Hilux... Like 79 - 83.

I'll have a photo in the next few days if you are that interested :D

I'm looking at about $100 a set, preferably. 2nd hand obviously.

search your local wrecking yard, usually they charge around $20/shock. you get what you pay for I spose.

When I put parabolic springs on my lux (about 2"- 3" in. lift) found a pair of 100 series shocks at wreckers that were perfect length for $25/ pr. So 80 series would be same, even look at 60 series length at right price. You might have to prise open shock mounts a bit or cut some rubber off bushes tho.
