spring clips

Post by benjamin78au »

quick query, after a lok and a search, thinking about opening the spring clamps on my serria, hoping for a bit more travel. now is it legal if i open em? and how do i open them up i guess with a crowbar or something and a vice? any one done em themselfs? and any pros and cons i not seeing. these are 18 month old dobsons, and are a bit um rought ride and not flexing. other wise , do i just pull out a leaf.

pros

bit more travel as they could be binding up the springs.
possible smoother rider

cons

If i break a main, then i in BIG sh*t as clamps would of held it together
the legal side
possible break the springs more often and axle problems

thanks in advance
