Compressor Mounting on an 80?

Post by crankycruiser »

I have just converted an A/C compressor so I can use it as my on board comp, but i am having troubles as to where to mount the thing....

Where have others mounted theirs on their 4.5 (1fzfe)????

on the diesels, you can mount one directly on top of or below the existing air cond compressor, by shifting the whole shebang down a bit, not sure on the petrol motor though.

Maybe Endless Air have a kit for it? probably $$$ but if your time is worth anything to you then probably cheaper than stuffing around trying to make it fit.

Endless now mount the air pump below the sump and use 2 longer belts to run the fan/alt/presser off the crank...

Have to look into that one.. might be the go...

I was thinking about bolting mine to those spare holes in the side of the head but that heater pipe is in the way..... I was going to build a bracket so that it sat out past that but I thought that the weight might be a bit much for those bolt holes....

a piece of angle with a part missing fits to the head behind the heater pie, and 2 plates come off it at 90 degrese with holes in the ends to accept the compresser....its that easy ion the petrols...i was refering to the 1hz mounted uner the sump
