I have about 120 degrees at the back and nearly 100 in the front.
And you get just as much travel as coils as well.
Don't give in NAM go leaves they are more reliable as well.
True forgot about rear eliiptics. So then you will only have chassi sticking out the front.
BTW how can you get this legal ?? Here in WA you would have no chance!!
Chris.
Why wouldn't 1/4 be engineerable? If it's done properly, it should be fine. Just like a coil conversion anyway. It's not like buggy leaf springs where they'll unload under hard braking pressure - unless they were pinned in.
Anyway, I still don't know which way to go in terms of engine mods. A hilux transmission would give me plenty of options but they'll have a centred output. Volvos are offset to the drivers side about 4:3.
Also, I'm trying to figure out what to do with the fuel filler nozzle and funnel. It's inconveniently placed behind the right rear wheel well. Is it hard to turn the tank around so the the filler can be extended and placed in front of the left rear wheel well? I'll have to mod the hard lines too won't I? I'll take some photos tonight.

After looking at the chop again sam is right. The way you have scaled the tyres up, the spring hanger would still be behind the tyres anyway.. you could probably extend the chassis just enough to run some nice longer leaves and give you enough room for a high-mount. And yeah, stick with the 1/4 rear if you can make it work...
Nam, sorry for the delay.
Things are coming along slowly. Engine trans and transfer are in and I am sorting out accessory brackets and exhaust at the moment. So far at a guess I would have spent near 8K and will probably need another 2-4 to finish.
Paul.
