Did you mean to ask a question? or just enlighten us?
Could be lots of reasons,
-cooling system in good nick? coolant/radiator/hoses/etc
-is the radiator core bocked? lights/mud/bugs/bent fins
-are you still in fifth making the engine labour or do you change down? What speeds are you doing when this happens? And HOT are the days?
Also some info on the truck -tyre size/weight/sqillion aerials & lights/canopy/etc

-my 6.2 gets warm if I sit over 120 on a 35deg Territory day.

My brother's stock as a rock VL Berlina Turbo has the same problem - but that's another story.
The very FIRST thing I'd consider is the SIZE of the radiator. How big is it - core dimensions, number of cores - and compare it with what others are running.
So, anybody want to post what they've got hooked up to their big chev diesel, and how well it works?

The cruiser radiator is normally quite sufficient. Just depends on what he's doing or done with it.
Esp if the cooling system hasnt been touched for a couple of years.
Mine, with standard Yota radiator, sits on a quarter all the time unless I'm pushing it(load/sand/speed/etc).

Ive got a 4 or 5 core (cant remember now) cruiser hj45 radiator in my comp car. It has been triple flowed as well and it doesnt get hot even on hot days.
It obviously doesnt tow a boat or van or anything but pushes 40" swampers allright even when at only 10 or so psi on the road, when coming home from 4by'n. Even on big long hills on hot days (road driving) doesnt get hot, nor does it offroad.
Mines a 6.2l not a 6.5l tho but wouldnt think it would make much difference.

One of the reasons I went for the 6.2 over the 6.5, Brunswick told me that the 6.5's do run a bit hotter.

No hair dryer
Has a full canvas canopy

How open is the air flow to the radiator -big spotties, mesh, etc
Does yours have the vent on the l/h guard behind the batteries?
Due to the small front on the 75's, bugger all air gets into the engine bay. I know ppl that have placed vents in the bonnet and/or guards to allow more airflow. Cheap and easy way to test this is to lift the rear of the bonnet with spacers.

Have you physically checked the thermostats? ie throw them in a pot of water with a thermometer, and watch the temp they open at. In my experience, this is the commonest cause of overheating - just 'coz it's new, don't mean it works!!
The other mod I've carried out on turbo'd 75's is to remove the top tank and solder in a deflector so that the water flows accross the top tank, rather than straight out the bottom. - the inlet and outlet were on the same side!! I think Toyota rectified this on newer models
Aluminium will work harden under constant vibration, and most likely crack.
my GQ is running a 6.2 and used to overheat even in winter. I talked to Brunswick & they suggested to fit a triple core radiater, a decent fan shroud, 80 series diesel thermelstat with the bypass cut off. The engine has been in now for about 6 years & its driven like i stole it. Now the hottest it gets is 180f (approx 85c).
