what joints in an a-frame back end?

i am planning an a-frame back end for the hilux..
has anyone had issues with using rod ends?? i was thinking of using a big high misallignment spherical bearing for the joint up top on the center of the diff. going to use 3/4" rod ends on all other linkages.
peoples opinions???

POS is running 3/4 rod ends in his buggy and has broken a few. I wouldn't use them. Fourwheelin has also broken a few as well in his buggy.

Rangie has an a-frame rear end, you could grab one and make it fit. RUFF had one on his green hilux, the mount had to be re-strengthened from memory (doesn't everything) PM him for details

Is this going to be registered for on road use? If yes, I would look at better options.

thank god i didn't go and order those 3/4 rod ends. best i go for something bigger.
i think i will make a joint like the snake racing joint for the center.

Ok now pics are back i will post some of my Rear set up i ran on my hilux.

I used a Defender Balljoint and Range Rover Bushes all round. They are also Range Rover coils.

mate the a frame mounts on either side?
said they were rover?
did they allow alot of flex? i would have thought they would act like a pin pin shock... limit is a little....

also that mount in the middle of the diff.... wats that called?

yeh, it will be registered till i get a fatyellow sticker on the windscreen. i like the idea of not making a joint for the center of the diff myself.

ruff, how much articulation can you get out of the rover center joint before it max's out??? also, what did you have to strengthen about it???

just checked out the ori polyflex bushes. they look good. seems they also make weld on sleeves for themto be pressed into, that means less machining for me.

Here's mine Cheezy uses one that is manufactured by Dobbins Engineering (greasable) also Marks 4WD Adapters do a similar joint as well.

How does it flex??

What sort of bushes do the trailing arms have??, do they bind??

if your not competing or if you are theres photos (or were) of ruffs thing, its more than the average pleb would need.
