ok, question for yas!
35s are rubbing on the body in front of the wheel as in this pic.
I was thinking of relocating the axle rearwards by .5 to .75 of an inch as I have a bit more room in the wheel arch behind the wheel.
I was thinking of this solution as an alternative to doing a body lift.
Now the axle relocation plates are 10mm thick so will reduce the height of the vehicle by 10mm. Can anyone see any problems with me using the axle relocation plates to move the axle back? I can use a tailshaft spacer if need be and was also thinking of getting 2 inch extended shackles to jack the rear up a little more but have worries of diff rotation by using these. Any thoughts on this? Is this a feasable solution or am I better off body lifting it?

Yeah I read that and I would go the Brunette in a heartbeat! I generally prefer them to blondes but thats just me.

dunno what they looked like so I am not much help, BUT you could whack in 60series springs and put the diff wherever the hell you like,
better flex, no rubbing etc

HOw do your 35s go for clearance, do yours rub in the same spot as mine or is yours soa?
I have the Spring Over conversion, couldn't make them rub if I tried (and I did)

I have the same prob in my 40. its a 75 also seems that they are the only ones with this problem as other 40s I have looked at don't have that bit of floor in the way. if ya cut that bit you end up with a hole in the floor.

Thanks for the replies guys, still a little unsure on my course of action though. Should I just body lift it or should I go the relocation of the axle either with the plates or by the method Beanz2/Dave suggested (good idea by the way, dont know why that hadnt occured to me).

Go the body lift, if that fails cut the guards
I am currently running 38' with a 50 mm body lift and 25mm cut out of the guards. The onlt place that rubs is in the top of the guard.
Just rember as the spring compresses the wheel will move back so by moving your axel you may just creat other problems

cutting the guards wont help as the 75's rub on part of the floor. as for mine I am going to move the diff back by putting on 60 series springs and mounts.

my thaughts are he should have installed longer springs!!! Its a lot easier, cheaper, quicker and less hassle than connecting up missaligned steering shafts resulting from a body lift. Here are some solutions though - Lower and re align the column where it goes through the firewall. Or raise the steering box. Or swap over to 60 or 75 series steering with the box mounted at the front of the chassis. When i did a body lift on a 40 series years ago i used a combination of parts and shortened and lowered the column where it goes through the firewall and had a splined slip coupling with universal joint to fit to the original sterring box.
