I am installing a mongoose mx40 into my gq..... it seems pretty straight forward apart from two things.....and i am wondering if anyone can help me??
1) the two circuits which run to the immobilised circuits (i guess starter and ignition) both have two wires each.... would i be correct in assuming that these connect to a 4 pin relay which in turn connects the circuit??? when dearmed???
2) one wire runs to the ignition.... would this connect to the 'accessory' circuit or the 'on' circuit'???? although i suspect it may not matter as long as the system knoiws when the key has been turned....

Car Immobiliser

Just split the circuit to your starter and ignition they are relay through the alarm itself. Hook ign wire up to acc input otherwise you may have alarm passively activating when sitting in car listening to your radio. You cant look pretty silly getting out of the car and setting the alarm off doing it.

When you mention there is two wires for each immob. circuit, I think you mean that there are two PAIRS (ie 4 wires per immobilisation circuit) of wires for each immobilisation circuit. When you connect the immobilisation circuits, you cut the wire that you intend to immobilise, solder one pair of wires to one side of the cut wire, and the other pair of wires to the other side of the cut wire.
The reason immobilisers are made like this is because design specs and Australian Standards callfor all wires to be black and the same coloured wires. In order to increase the current capacity on the immobilisation circuits, they double up the wiring, instead of increasing the size of the other twenty or so wires!

I tried to do this with my alarm however the acc input drops to 0V on crank. The relays in the alarm need constant 12V. The motor won't crank with the alarm ignition lead on the acc because it drops to 0V.
Do you have any other ideas? The auto arming is driving me crazy to say the least.
