MQ/MK L28 Supercharging

Post by adam.s »

I have done a few searches, have found that a few people on here are looking at doing this, or were planning on doing it last year - but cannot find any more info on it.

SO... :) - has anyone successfully supercharged a carby L28 from mq/mk, and if so - could you give us a rough outline of your experience.

Cheers

Turbo is easier because you just rip it off another L28 ?

How hard is it to go to an EFI setup and is it really worth it ?

Carby's are so simple as it is, EFI really complicates an otherwise easy to fix setup.

EHI set-up is preaty easy and it was worth it. As for super charging we were going to do it to mine, instead we are doing it to my mates 280zx first. We have the charger fitted, we are waiting on the new computer because the standard one wont handle it and they cost to much to re-map. When we start it and dyno it ill let you know of rigures and cost, to see if its worth it.
Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)

if the supercharger will allow the air/fuel mixture to run through it - i dont think all s/c's will, but if you find one that does that, then you should be able to pipe it in sucking through the carby, and not need EFI/aftermarket computer

a mate of mine is actually doing it to his carby fed mini, they actually have several bolt on kits available to them, none of which have efi afaik.
