Anyone have some old Widetrack Feroza springs spare?

Post by Goatse.AJ »

OK, time to finally do something about my rear suspension. Just wondering if anybody (preferably Melbourne area) has upgraded their rear suspension and has the old springs laying around? OR even something else that will do the job. Springs should be 70mm wide.

I've got decently extended shackles, but want to see how she goes with an extra spring or 2.....by the time the '96 model came out, they had cut it down to just one main spring and a "helper". Pretty piss poor for carrying any sort of weight. Budget (Read Ministry of War and Finance) still won't extend to new aftermarket ones.

With the extended shackles, I get decent travel and flex, but figure that a bit of extra lift from even stocky springs would be a good thing.

Anybody?????

Hey AJ

Instead of replacing my leaf package ( i have 1 + helper as well ) I got an extra (heavy duty) leaf added and had them reset to the max.... Gave me a heap of lift and havent sagged since i had it done about 4 years ago... and i have been towing some pretty heavy things too!

If you have a look in the Pose pic thread you will see the a pic that shows the leaf pack.

I also opened up the grip that holds the pack together, it has given me a bit more travel as the leaves came spread a bit more. You will see that in the pic too.

It only cost about $200 to get both sides done.

EDIT: With that and the shackles its sitting at 965mm from the ground to the bottom of the guard in my garage.

Front is sitting at 925mm from the ground to the bottom of the guard.
