wiring the computer under the dash takes a bit of time, but there's nothing to photograph.
just one example, lots of little jobs take time and won't show on a piccy.
And sometimes I too lazy or busy to write details :oops:

With the u bolt arrangement, the pin that locates the cut spring, does that run into a hole in the chassis to stop movement, or is it all reliant on friction? May have to consider this setup for a mates rig.

My mate will be using pin to locate the spring thru a hole in the chassis, but at the moment he is relying on friction, untill he is happy with the shackle angle etc...many people don't use a locating pin and I haven't heard of any troubles. christover

I believe its possible, but it will be untested...
I don't think he'll go without plenty of testing before hand.
It is very close, but things are dependant on the engineer getting back from holidays, and normal life gets in the way stuff, money, new houses, new woman etc ;)
so its a definte maybe :)

Lots of little stuff been done.
Brackets for water bottle, overflow bottle, etc etc.
Support brace for shock towers is done, just needs paint.
dash area is tidy and almost done.
front bar is made, just needs cleaning up, painting and fitting.
gee its getting close now.

Get a closer look, photos don't do justice.
Should be finished but for the engineer/rego stuff.

painting/fitting of the shock tower braces, incorporating the plumbing of the egr.
bits of fiddly jobs like handbrake cable retaining spring, connecting of earths to lights, just a lot of silly little stuff, but I'm guessing money for the engineer is the hold up. christover

Joey and Becks bruiser is so almost finished, that its out test driving, and being taken to their new home, by trailer, for ease of the last few jobs.

shock tower braces are finished, not much left to do.
power steer blew a joint, but was easily fixed.
front bar finished and lights fitted.

Latest developement. no pix sorry.
Lots of little stuff done today.
mudflaps fitted (very big) :)
rubber plugs for wires thru firewall etc.
steering alignment done.
final driving tests completed.
need some roadworthy tires and its off to the engineers for final check up.
very exciting times :)

Joey needs to lend some roadworthy tyres for the engineer test and
roadworthy stuff.
They need to be 205 x 15's (standard Sierra sized) and he would prefer them to be All Terrains or Mudders
(cant be road tyres for the engineer test) and must be all the same
make/type and condition, and be very roadworthy.
Preferably on standard Sierra rims, but if not be OK.
He has bigger tyres and rims in roadworthy condition to fit to a
Sierra if you want to lend him the tyres that are on your car.

Help get the Bruiser on the road.

Hi all,
Just a quick note to say a very big thanks to those who offered tyres
for joey's car to get on the road to 4wding!!!
We now have a set for it!!
We are really looking forward to it being on/off the road soon.
The engineer test is in late March

I am guessing they are std sierra units from the front?

Just got THE phone call from Joey. :onfire:
Cars back home from the preliminary engineers check, and it only needs a few minor things done for certifying.
It needs to be weighed, I assume with a weigh bridge report.
(Jim can he borrow yours, I think you have one, I gave him ya number)
A uni joint instead of a rag joint in the steering.
The spotties need an adr approval number.
And some minor things that I forget (busy day, heads full)
so nearly yippee
More details as I get em
I going round to see Joey ( his car really:) ) tomorrow.

We can also do each corner independantly so we can work out his weight balance.

Thanks to Jim, the Bruiser now is weighed.
The steering column is up to engineers specs.
Not long, now, can't wait :)

The few jobs the engineer has asked for have all been done...
Other works that joey wished to do before rwc are now done,
except a bit of cleaning and re attaching steering pump lines.
It's booked in Monday for the engineer to check the new work.
Should be no issues, should be a FINAL exam.
Now we wait for Monday nights update.
