Just a normal weekend at Rover really with the QLD boys showing how it's done except with Peter Antunac along for a play :D

By normal I mean, the buggies rolled, Rod broke his buggie, beebee laid it on the side, Chris drove the RocToy hard, Scotty had the usual dramas, etc.

I am in the middle of putting the videos and pics up so keep checking the site. When you are watching the video clip labelled "Rod's axle" watch it spit the rear left axle out the side.

http://www.4wdlinks.com.au/gallery/view ... e=album363

As I said keep checking back at the site cause I'm in the middle of doing it.

I left early today so I missed a bit such as Tony's roll.
Cheers

luckily when tony rolled he landed on his head ... saved a lot of damage to the budgie :D

gonads flopped on the winch challenge stage, jamie rolled, BB flopped, adrian flopped and tony endoed on the rock crawling stage.

celia apparently did a big end in the commy V6 and pauls zook had a bad big end knock in the commy V6 as well.

rod spat a rear axle , wes did a front diff or CV or something and adrian did a CV as well i think.

Thats about all the damage i can remember.

first of all huge congratulations to sam and the crew for holding another fantastic event, the organisation and professionallism displayed is second to none!

Congratulations to all the competitors, it was great to compete with a top field of vehicles. just the sheer tunasity shown by all the entrants was a major highlight of the event. Yes it would have been good to see a few of the top winch trucks, but celia and eugene took up the fight on their behalf and showed how a light well built rig can be competitive against some of the other 'monsters' (i am sure the learnt a few tricks as well along the way). Well done to Big red (shane and chris) to get that beast of a nissan through the std Rock track, you only get an appreciation on actually how hard the track are when you watch one of the best nissans in the country being tortured in our playground! and as for Adrian in the blue rocket - WOW! ! ! (see bec all that practice in the disco at the lights payed off).

Wes in the lockless was amazing, i reckon the accellerator cable has now been stretched about 3", but Tony you are the man, your consistancy and adaptability is amazing - well done!

As for me and BB, we had a mediocre effort. We were doing well in the winch stage untill we broke a new front diff ctr and tore the eye off the winch cable - DNF  . the TT course was better with a good clean run, damn it is nice to have a rig that can drive stoopid line and do it easily. But the rock course was dissapointing by our standards, started well by driving the first bonus (only rod, tony us were able to do it) but a gentle flop (my fault - forgot to tell him to winch in  ), didnt stop fwd progress as he just drove it out, then although getting up the step pretty easily slipped of line and got wedged just before the last cone. Smoked the boggers pumped the hydraulics and started to climb with 1 wheel well in the air, but backed off because he thought it was way to scary (damn nearly had it).

Well done to all!

AWESOME WEEKEND GUYS!!!

Thanks to Sam and the guys for getting this off the ground.

Ally and I had the best time, for our first comp, it was good not to come last and not break anything!

I think we finished in around 15th or so place, so that was way cool, especially since we drove the car there and back and to work today!

Huge thanks to my sponsors

John (My Lil Lux) for the use of his boggers. Great tyres! :D
Rod (Bone) for bringing some helmets up from Sydney for us.
and Ally for doing a great job as navy, with little experience and under the pressure of everyone yelling, she kept her cool and played it safe.

Thanks to Nick and all the guys keeping time for giving Ally encouragement as we went along.

Will put pics up soon.

Cheers Chris
