g'day people
I have a 93 NH pajero and i want to use my air con thermo fan as a suplument my clutch fan for cooling whislt in the summer months.I have wired it basicaly all up but haven't taken the plunge to actually conect up the fan to the in cabin switch.
The fan has a constant power supply to it even when the car is off ( this is how it was made in the factory...i hope) so when the aircon is turned on or the temp rises the thermo fan then kicks in via a relay that opens or connects the negative side,so basicaly i should be able to just connect up my switch to the negative side of the fan and all should be sweet....but will it???
I was thinking that i mite need a relay or in line fuse but will it work on the negatvie side????????
Thanks

wire up air con thermo fan
Moderator: -Scott-
I had this done to my NH.
I just got an auto eleccy to do it (it was done with a lot of other stuff).
He wired the fan in such a way that when the a/c was one (clutch would engage) the fan would come on at the same time. There is also a rocker switch on the console to manually switch it on as well.
It does help to give a little extra airflow especially crawling up long hills in low range on a hot day, a worthwhile and cheap mod utilizing existing stuff.

Heh Locknut. I was thinking of doing exactly what you've done. Would you be able to post up a diagram or even a bit more detail as to how you have done this. I get the positive bit off the fan, but how have you wired in your relay to dash mounted switch etc.
Any advice would be awesome.
Thanks in advance...
