mine had a problem where it wouldn't turn off, ended up i took the motor out, opened it up, and there was a build up of crap from the brushes shorting inside, so i just cleaned the crap out, and works good since. blowing fuses might be the same deal, open circuit inside motor.

rear wiper short

Post by mav »

bazzle when you say you had a short then a open circuit you had bare wires right??? i'm still chasing the fuse blowing problem, i've stripped the wiper motor its OK, done a visual check of the wiring looks OK but still blows fuses, but not straight away sometimes days before it blows??

rear wiper

Mine has become sluggish when first activated then it goes fine. A few days later it is slow of the blocks again then speeds up to the correct oscillation.

I think the bushes might be a bit dirty until it clears them a bit,

I replaced the switch on the dash with one from the wreckers, because the plastic lugs had broken.
Then I forgot it and had some other work done on the car, involving removing tail lights.
Then my park lights would not work - blowing the fuse everytime I turned them on.
Anyhow, 4 hours of troubleshooting later the park lght problem was caused by the wiper switch on the dash, the one from the wreckers. Put a new one in - all OK.
