Can someone tell me what ratios are standard in a '90 LWB GQ 4.2 deisel?

While I am on the subject does anyone have a locked diff thay want to sell me??? complete with brakes would be nice, air locker preffered but PM if you have either Air or auto.

thats your ratio... 4.1 4.3 or 3.9
more than likely a 4.1

Prob is the car is at the holding yard for the insurence company 1.5 hrs away....I want to try and get a locked diff in care of the insurence. Can I cange ration on a factory locked diff??

Someone decided it needed a nip and tuck, so they drove into it. :finger: took out the rear diff and bent the trailing arms etc

There is no hard and fast rule to diff ratios... some manual 4.1's came with 3.9, some with 4.1..
You just have to look and see, or make a call to the holding yard..

3.0 GQ's came with 4.3's... New $930ish each end from Nissan.

Yes. but have to match front and rear...
EG Both 4.1 or both 4.3

:roll: yeah, no dought....the diff housing needs replacing, so I can get a complete locked diff and put my ratios in it, will this work?

They have agreed to do it as long as I pay any difference between cost and there quoted price :D :D cheap locker :D :D

also early model leaf sprung gq utes, however i think they all have the monster rear diffs, maybe incorrect?? so ring gear would be too big unless you want the whole axle housing and all

I have 2.8td lwb and my doesnt say sh**t. Just chasis number and some other info, but nothing like HG41,HG43.... Any other ideas where should i look?

Check inner guard just behind D/S headlight....there's another plate with HG41 or whatever. Here D/S is RHS.
