Unique car insurance.
$719 Agreed $25k INC accessories..
I think I have about $15k of accessories if I was to go to ARB/TJM and try and buy them all new.

DGA
$794 Market value of $18,300 INC accessories (as i say theres $15+k of accessories! So in their words the car is worth ~$3,000 - knowing that you never get full value on accessories, say theres $10k of accessories, the car then is worth $8k?

or agreed value of $26k for $836, but have to have car and accessories valued, and written valuation which is around $200.00

Am I on the right planet?

RACV - if accessories exceed 1/3rd of the value of the car your fucked.

AAMI - Agreed value of $14k INCLUDING accessories.. she even asked the value of most of them, "Gee, theres quite a bit, we are up to 11,000 worth".. So according to them, again the car is worth $3000....

I'm with DGA, but Unique sounds like it may be a better mob.
Which one did you go with?

4inch lift is the killer.. it automatically excludes you from 99% of them, and when you tell them you have set it up for touring, with a few basic accessories, they wont insure you if your accessories are more than $.01 cent value.. norti werd the lot of them..

will waste a call with suncorp tomorrow

fuckin oath, if you had my last 5 yrs and bein assfuct by them at every corner just tryin to not even fuck with the system, but be genuine about my claim and injuries, you too would fuckin hate them with a passion... You ever had people followin you 24/7? Funny when you front them and tell them where you are going next, they dont know which way to run.. EG one bloke followed me and missus after we lead him round for a while into Bras and things, this bloke was alone, and pretending to buy hooter holders, wife walked up to him and said we are going to coles and then home, we will meet u there.. he shit himself and tookoff out the shop.. but then there was another one the next day...

so yes I do fuckin hate them.

i'm with affinity risk partners. If there are probs getting insured with them speak to your clubs rep to Vic 4wd assoc. They should be able to sort it out.
Mine costs $550 incl having my g/f covered (which was the killer with other companies.) I have a 1988 Diesel troopy.
I was able to get cover at $450 with Shannons but they wanted $750 if my g/f was to be covered.

i am a long time customer of shannons. this is the only reason they would cover the 4x4. But the 4x4 is the first vehicle in around 6 years that isn't with them.

What club you with?

Why don't u just go third party property damage.

Some of the companies you quoted are only willing to give you $15000- $20000 meaning your base truck is only worth $5000 to $10000. If you do have accident that is your fault at least you get to keep all the accessories and get the truck fixed yourself.

Whether you got comprehensive or not an accident is always going to hurt your pocket a bit.

Good point. In the event of a single vehicle or at fault accident, you get to keep the damaged truck and the accessories, and just have to bolt them on to the next truck. The $500 or more you would save per year will pay for what the insurance will give you for the truck in a few years.

However in some states you cannot get fire and theft coverage with TPP. It is good to have TPP+Fire and theft - especially if you have a lot of $$$ accessories.

And Bruce, you have nothing to complain about - the insurance costs in Australia are (unfortunately for me at the moment) much better than in most of the rest of the world. If you were in most parts of Europe you would be paying about $2000 a year for insurance, in the UK even more, and in most parts of Canada people pay cash for their first car but need a loan to pay the insurance!!!

With modifided 4B your insurance should always be agreeded value, other wise you are screwed if you ride it off. They will only pay you what the auction value of the standard 4B.
Whats the number for DGA. I would like to see what the charge for me?

They got my friend with his commodore. It was insured for $35000 with all the mods. Didnt get agreed value and when someone T-Boned him and wrote it off they only gave him $9500.
