can someone confirm my way or thinking..
yo cannot get transmission windup in an automatic vehicle as the touque convertor will take up any slip in the system.

right or wrong?

wrong, transmission wind up occurs because a conventional transfer case(no centre diff etc.) forces the front and rear diffs to turn at the same speed. manual or auto it wont matter.

transmission wind up i thought was the difference between the back and frount diffs and how much strain it is putting on the transfere case, not the transmission. So yes you still do get wind up with an auto.

but you can't get wind up in a allwheel drive unless you lock the centre transfer case
