FJ60 body lift dramas

Post by Coogee60 »

Hi all,
I'm having a few problems with my 60 after fitting a 2 inch body lift. As expected the transfer case lever was fouling the floor so I have cut an inch or so out with the angle grinder to compensate. I took it for a test run this morning and even though I am getting low range gearing, there is still no drive to the front wheels??? Yes, hubs are locked... There was a bit of a grinding noise when I first put it into low range (before I chopped the floor) so I am a bit worried that I have damaged something. Any info would be great, should I keep chopping for more clearance or should I take a different route and bend the lever instead?
Thanks.

Don't know what your problem is without seeing the car. I extended both levers by 50mm when I did my lift so it feels normal while driving.
Good luck, hope you find the problem.
Damian.

should I swim it first ?
