i have a 82 hilux 2.2 diesel & 4speed i have been told the diff ratios are 4.8 can anybody confirm this for me

i believe the green one would be 4.3 and the red one 4.5, i could be wrong but.

Nick was talking to a workmate the other day about swaping diffs he said to check out the ratios as he was pretty sure all the early modles had the
4.8. just want to be sure before i do anything

All early Hilux 4x4s run 4.88 diff ratios as standard.

read the trans/axle code off the build plate on the firewall and I can look it up for you.

4.8:1 for sure
all petrol hiluxs had 4.8:1 diffs
2.2 diesels had 4.8:1 diffs
2.4 diesels had 4.5:1 diffs
2.8 diesels had 4.3:1 diffs
