Dramas?...None really.

Mechanically the thing has been good, but I just can't cop the "my farts put out more air" aircon that they have. That, along with the seating that leaves me in fear of DVT, the useless door seals, the no leg room in the back despite the huge amount of space inside, the lack of thought in design with reference to: tie down points in the cargo area, rear widow winders that make your hand hit the seat, noise insulation, lack of power, lack of economy with a/c on, position of air intake, turning circle, no recovery points on bullbar, crappy factory jack.

Apart from those things, I have no complaints. And if I were to be travelling around in it all day by myself, there would not be a problem. I would fix the things that really bothered me and live with the rest. But for $40k the thing should be a lot better.

Igot a snorkle = fixed air intake height, i belive a must on any 4x4. Very cheap.

I dont sit in the back seats so the leg room dont bother me, nor do the window handles.

My aircon cranks! within about 10-15 min ive got condensation on my dash like a big beer fridge!

i love the noise, very beasty and truck like with a good exhaust! and some big JT"s

ive had a hilift jack for about 6 years.

still got great economy even with the aircon on and 34 inch tyres compared to a land bruiser or pootrol with the air con turned off.

mud and water still gets in no matter what when having fun, least with the defender you can get the garden hose and blast it out afterwards!

for about 15 bucks you can bolt on a rated front recovery hook to the chassi. or buy a decent bar. i wouldnt trust any standard recovery point on any make of 4x4.

the seating is great in my opinion, i can see everything nicely, and easy to stick my head out the window to drive over that nice big rock in front of me with ease.

Yer so true:D

But our AC did get bloody cold, and cold water formed all the time. Yet the cabin was never cold, it's just too big an area to cool with the system.

Not to mention the lack of legroom for the passenger with AC, but hey I agree, I only sit in the drivers seat!:)

I did never really understand why they didn't move the rear seat back 10cm, and raise the seat height by 10cm, it would make all the difference!

I agree too, fuel economy was never bad in the old girl

If they raised the rear seat another 10 cm people would need a ladder! :lol: my missus cant even get in my front seat without me giving her a hand. HaHaha

Just a comment, I heard the reason why the Poms chose the 300TDI was because it was less suseptable than the TD5, to EMF from a nuclear strike!!!!.

I reckon my trucks great, but I do think after so many years of producing similar vehicles (series), LR could have done much better!. Perentie 6x6 width would have been ideal-how is it that we can produce a vehicle like that on a small run?-it's like LR just can't be bothered to evolve.

A big selling point is the aluminium skin and its rust free qualities-so why don't they go a little further, and galvanise the chassis, firewall, and door frames??-bugger all cost over the volume they produce!.
