Paj For Sale

Post by Begbie »

Hi there, well after only a short time as a paj owner i am selling up. We already need a bigger car and so the Paj is going and we are getting a Patrol.

I have a 99 NL Escape, Man, Silver in mint cond. Its completely stock, full service history and i am the second owner. Its got rpola roof racks, air con has just been serviced so its ICY :), new wind screen about 3 months ago when it had last RWC, 4 almost new tyres. Has done 157k kms- its like driving a brand new car. Also has a funky CD player and UNGO factory remote controlled alarm System

Escpae models have 15" Alloy Wheels, 4 Speaker Stereo, Adjustable Steering Col. - Tilt only, Air Conditioning, CD Player, Central Locking - Remote/Keyless, Cruise Control, Limited Slip Diff, Paint - Metallic, Power Antenna, Power Door Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows - Front & Rear, Side Steps, Tacho, Velour Trim

I took it off road on some sandy hills near home for an 1 or 2 before Christmas with my 3 yo daughter, therefore no radical off road work, under water or anything. This car is in mint condition.

I got pics and will post them later today.

I would like to negotiate a good price for it. Based on the following links.

Well seems as though i cant afford a Patrol, unless i get a base model - and who wants to pay 25k+ and still have a rubber floor - screew that i want leather and buttons :)

I am thinking of getting NM paj - would prefer a TD Exceed style - not many NM owners in this forum, mostly older Paj byu the looks - anyone know much about NM, are they as good as the NL ? Will i find it as powerful and reliable and nice to drive as the NL?

Power, reliability, handling, general driving experience will all be as good or better than the NL - until you go looking for wheel travel.

It won't follow a Patrol to the ends of the earth, but for most roads in Australia the Patrol won't even know which way you've gone. :P

Be aware that the earlier NM td is the 2.8, identical from the NJ on. The 3.2 DiD is the real nice one (with electronic controls, to die on the water crossings... )

It all comes down to intended use, and whether you can live with the limitations.

Cheers,

Scott

YEah i want havbe to worry too much about water crossings - we only go camping/touiring, with small kids in the car etc so nothing too radical.

I have the NP 3.8 petrol with a 3" lift and winch the thing is a rocket on the dirt tracks or sand, the traction control works a dream and unless the Patrol has lockers and a good driver you will go further and get there quicker, dont be put off by the petrol engine it can be thursty if driven hard but you should be getting around 600-700km to the 90 ltr tank

have fun

you could try the victorian pajero club forum

http://www.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/

there seems to be a heap of NM/NP owners on there.
