Engine upgrade

Post by Clown Boy »

What is the biggest Turbo Diesel engine I would be able to fit into my SURF (generic Hilus engine bay size)?

I definitely want Diesel so am not interested in the V8 petrol engines that are a popular engine for these trucks.

I am willing to move the batteries into the wagon if necessary.

Let's pretend money isn't the issue. But let's not get ridiculous.

5 - 10 maybe.

I would be interested in a 6.2L chevy if it would fit.

There's nothing wrong with thinking what you would do if you had the cash.

That's why my wife buys lottery tickets.

But it has to be realistic.

I do need a new engine.

This one is not going to last long. But it will last for a few years.

My intent at present is to buy a front cut for about 5k or so (I expect that is how much it will cost). I should be able to get about a 3 or 3.2l engine.

I was wondering how big I could go.

Of course the other question would be do you plan on doing it yourself or PAYING for someone to do it?

Depends on the requiremets of the changeover.

I have completed an engine swap over twice before by myself. But I am unsure about needing to move engine mounts so ....

Oh for crying out loud.

For purposes of my own reputation.

A guy offered to do a 5 minute job for me for free.

Told me afterwards about hours of labor.

I offered favours and stuff in return but he wanted money.

So I never paid.

End of story.

For crying out lous guys, grow up for find a bridge.

Like I told them, I am not replying anymopre. But figured if it was going public I would put in 1 message that you guys can choose to believe or ignore.

If you offer something for nothing, don't come back and ask for cash afterwards.....it a bit like indian giving

BUT...if it was a mate, and it turned out longer, and he need a helping hand, surely you could go halves or something

but you know the situation not me
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!
