my hilux is going up for sale after i come back from the US
its making way for one off these two trucks. if any one has any
comments good or bad they shell be off great help
I chose the Nissan over the Landcruiser for a number of reasons.
1 - The Nissan has coils all round, far better of road, more options for suspension packages and strong all round.
2 - The Toyota has the small front diff and owning a 100 series with same size diff and blowing that up I was not going there again, and only available with rear leaf springs.
The only down side to the Nissan is the engine compared to the Toyota, the toyo has great low down grunt but spend a few dollars on the nissan getting it tuned and it certainly will be better than standard.
so u say that coil all round is far better that coil front and leaf rear
iam going down to have a look at the nissan this arvo.
does any one know how hi u can go on the nissan with out having to do a body lift and what sizetyres can u fit under them once been lifted. Iam looking at geting 34" simex

What weak points..........4" will fit 36s under, but the bushes don't quite adjust the castor quite enough, would suggest 5' with castor plates or droped arms, and 35s work nice under them.
I have a 2" ome under mine, and more than happy with the offroad performance even with 32s
certainly have not heard of any serious multiple probs on the GUs cept the 3.0tdi, but ask the Q in the nissan forum
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!
Whats wrong with the 3.0tdi patrolls? i was planning upgrading also (family wagon ute is gooooone ) But it there is a problem inherent to this type then it may be delayed

Some early ones were having probs, but from what I understand, any older ones will have been fixed by now, and the newer ones have been rectified, but year / series ask on the nissan board

A mate and I run a 3 inch lift and 315s (35) and have no probs.
I only run a air locker in the front at present, the LSD in the nissans are first class, saved $1200 to use on other mods. Will get a rear locker at a later date.
