Trailer Indicator light

Post by Mick G »

Just had an ARB winch bar fitted to my S2 Disco and with my limited knowledge of electrics or Discoveries am I assuming this is the reason for my trailer indicator light flashing every time I indicate. Wouold I be right in assuming that because the bar has extra indicator lights on it, the system thinks it has a trailer connected?
If this is the case, is there anyway of stopping the trailer light from flashing whilst indicating?

Yes.......

Ummm, not that I know of. Maybe switch a couple of bulbs to LEDs to drop the load.

Maybe a heavier duty flasher unit could help with the load???

The reason it triggers is that the computer senses the load on the indicator circuit and thinks there is a trailer attached. If you change the globes in the bullbar to the 5w ones it will sit below the warning lights trigger threshhold and not light up.
