What about some fibre based carpet underlay? that is also a sound deadner, and should insulate as well????
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!
sporty 40
year mate i have this prob with my 40 series i havent yet got ride of the heat prob but for sound i used a spray on body deadner it worked amazing i thaught it was bull shit but its good stuff its about $38 for four liters and because its so thick you need a special gun to spray it which is about $30 to but mate money well spent
I'm getting a price on some heat insulating mat to fix to the underside of the floor from Rocket Industries through Repco. I have a heat problem that actually causes coke type bottles to melt and shrink when left on my passenger's side floor!

I bought some underfelt from some car carpet place in Melb. It is 2 layers of felt with a layer of bitumen in between. I put this right through the 60 and the difference in sound levels was amazing. It used to be turn the radio up so you could hear it over the road noise, then talk really loud over the radio, now you can hold a normal speech level conversaton at 110kph no worries. I think it cost about $180 all up to do the whole car - well worth it I wreckon. If you do this, make sure you cover every inch of the floor as one small hole will let in a whole lot of noise.
Damian.
