The Jabber Renaissance Project - SAS

Hey Andrew, yeah Cheezy decided to add a front swaybar to mine. We didn't think it would pass an engineer test.
The dynamics of the Paj are much different to the Toyo's, more weight is shifted to the front on acceleration and cornering. He changed the coils to 320lb units (from 270lb) and that helped but it still needs a front bar.
It's been made and I should be able to pick it up during the week.
I drove it and the 5.29 gearing has made a big difference and the thing accelerates much better than before. The rear end feels great, really tied down. Just fine tuning everything now.

I just got off the phone to get my PC looked at (one of Bundyrums mates) and he's telling me wild stories about the Jabber flexing over a metre and stuff
I was only after a few extra inches at the front so I can get over the mother of all Safeway gutters without the lockers.

Spoke to Cheezy today and it's ready for me to have a play to see what I think. Front swaybar is done and something different has been done to the rear to improve onroad handling (not a swaybar) but both front & rear will still max out the shocks. He said the on road handling is sweet as now.
Problem is I'm working all weekend so probly won't get a chance to test it out until the following weekend
Oh and I'm gonna OWN that Safeway gutter

One of my buddies has a 4x4 shop and he was wondering what all you did and if you had a write up with pics. Let me know when that will be available. This might be a project down the road, but i doubt not for atleast a couple of years

It's at an auto eleccy at the moment to get some work done.
Starter motor needs repair, mobile phone kit to be ripped out, immobiliser is arming itself and to fix the super select flashing lights when in 4x4 (needs a bypass sorted out).
Then it's off to get the brakes fine tuned.
I can't do anything this weekend but the following weekend for sure

You guys over down under dont get too excited about SAS GenII's, huh If there was someone doing a SAS here in the states, you can be sure we would be asking him for pics, trail rides, write ups and conversations about what all was done to achive such a beautiful ride. Did I mention pics.

Frank, Cant wait to see her in action. This is a great first step for those that have considered or thought about doing this. Now we have something to look forward to. Great work all around. Sounds like your happy with the results. Wish I had the time and money to start something like this. I couldnt go for over a week without my truck. Good luck.

Yeah there's still a few little things to sort out.
I'm still not 100% happy with the brakes (not Cheezy's issue) I think the master cylinder may need an upgrade. It stops really well but pedal effort is high and the pedal sits too low for my liking.
Also front suspension compression can be improved which Cheezy can easily do with extended shock towers and longer shocks.
The rear A frame has very serious travel the only thing there is perhaps some Rancho adjustables to replace the 2nd set (it runs twin shocks in the rear, main shocks are adjustable) to help stiffen it up onroad.
As no one has done this before we are in the testing and fine tuning stage but so far I'm very happy with the results.
