Hi all - after a bit of advice please. G13a, was wheeling yesterday (no deep water tho) and on the way home it suddenly coughed and from then when you put the foot down it hesitates, bunny hops etc until it picks up. Very hard to take off from lights etc (need heaps of revs), once the revs are up it seems ok. Stopped and pulled both fuel filters - both ok, pulled plugs - looked ok. tried spare coil lead - no difference.
Any ideas ? Coil? Plugs? Plug Leads?
Sits on 100k no worries, but accelerating thru the gears is very interesting.
Then around the corner from home, a booze bus pulled us up (no worries) but trying to start off again was VERY EMBARRASSING!! (eyes straight ahead, don't look at the coppers.....)!!

Engine hesitating
mine does the same (even though it's a G16A).
It's the inlet manifold gasket leaking. It leaks to the point that you can actually block off air flow to the carby and the car still runs.
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
One to store away in the memory bank
I do that as a regular maintainance thing.
even with 2 filters, crap still gets thru.
idle jets are soooo small on a zook, they block easy.
Also, offroading can stir up the crap in the bottom of the fuel tank, as well as in the carby..
drain it off a bit, if yours has a drain plug?
fine dust/rust gets thru the filters and re forms as a rocky type stuff in the fuel bowl, then the bumping around gets it stuck in the idle jet.
carby cleaner spray works, so I am told, if you don't wanna suck ya hand off
