Extended shackles

Post by James_Murray »

I have done a few searches and come back with heaps of answers, so I will only ask the stuff that needs to be asked here.

I actually have a Rocsta, it is leaf spung front and rear.

The springs sit fairly flat - are flatter springs better for articulation compared to curvy springs?

The main problem I have is chasis clearance. I dont want to do a body lift since it will not solve my problems. I want better clearance of the diffs, tank and rear departure angles. The front and rear bars are bolted to the chassis rails.

1" will help, but I actualy want 2", but dont need more, though I will take it if it doesnt look silly or adversly affect the COG.

Shackles alone will not give me the height I need. It is difficult to get raised springs for the rocsta. Anyone got any ideas?

One last option is a SPO conversion. When I look at the underside, it doesnt look too complicated, but I have no idea about how to sort out the steering - if I have trouble getting raised springs, I will have all sorts getting modified steering components.

Anyways, what I want is 2" - what I would like to budget is $1000.

Thanks, James.

I forgot one of the options. Dropped hangers (ie, cut off the existing hangers and block them at 2 or 3 inches).

I just got a price back on the springs and shocks - $1800.

from what ive read about the rocsta they are the same as a CJ5 jeep. or something like that. ring Joe at 4play offroad and he may have a few ideas for ya as he is a zook guru. maybee some other model lifted springs will fit.
