Thanks Tom, we really enjoyed meeting/chatting with you, glad you enjoyed your first time spotting too......hopefully it'll be the start of many other times.
Do come on down to Tufftruck and check it out, if you can also.

Hope to see you all there, seeing as some of the boys have entered.

We've spent OZ day Syd. harbourside @ Nielsen Park, Vaucluse, swimming, pigging out and celebrating being lucky enough to live in this great land.

Happy Australia Day to you all.
Celia & Eugene.

This was a heap of fun, so the final placings didnt matter all that much. I know if it was a serious comp then i certainly would have got dave to drive all the easy lines and not the bonus's,as it shows on the final scores with those that decided to take the easy options did exceptionally well avoiding unnecessary penalties. (spose i am just dissappointed in my effort  - i should have concentrated more on the comp like the others rather than just playing hard and showing off, SORRY DAVE)

What gives you this idea? The Vehicles that took 1st,2nd and 3rd place all if not drove the hard lines at least attempted them. The vehicles that placed well drove to their capabilities and didnt try to drive beyond them so therefore did well. The vehicles that should have done well and didnt either had bad luck or found that their vehicles were not as good an allrounder as they originaly thought.

Basicaly a vehicle that was totaly set up for one style had no real chance at overall. But a vehicle that could cut it on all fronts had a great chance. Im surprised my rig came out on top. I expected to finish at the pointy end but not right at the tip.

Going into the comp i expected Pete Antanuc to come out on top. Its got big Tyres, fast winch, plenty of flex and a shit load of HP. Everything i beleive you need for an allrounder.

Geeez some people are sore loosers!

Although it is kind of hard when your driver can't drive for sh1t :D

(For anyone that doesn't know - the driver is me and 1mad is my spotter ;) )

Anyway, regardless of outcome, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It certainly was a fun event. It was great to be competing with such a wide variety of competitors. I hope everyone had as much as I did :!:

Sorry Tony I have to put my 2c in on the all rounder comment!...Sure Pete's "I can do anything" truck is undoubtedly awesome and extremely capable.......but hows about he does the OBC in it.....any money on as to how long it would last?......
C'on Pete hows about entering not only a Winch Challenge like the Ateco Warn Challenge.......but an Outback Challenge too.
In those them same tyres and all.......

I know he'd prob do just fine also......who am I trying to fool.

It's great to see that the event is still drawing people to comment about it, goes to show how much it was enjoyed huh!

Outback Challenge

Ha,
If they'd let me run in it as is, I would. Fuel is the only main problem.
This year is out 4 me, but maybe next year

dont get me wrong, i enjoyed the comp heaps and am not dissappointed with what we drove in any way  (loved the winch section and cant wait for the XWC series, so watch out celia  ). I am just a bit pissed with my effort, i was trying to use this as a bit of practice for TT and i think if we compete like that we will look pretty slack  .

But the format for BOTC is awesome and i hope its huge next year.

Shane Barlow DVD

Post by tjpete »

Just saw the DVD trailer from Shane Barlow. Absolutely A W E S O M E !

I cannot wait to get amongst it with all of you this year.

Congratulations to Tony Robinson, his spotter and buggy, very well done. And congratulations to everyone who competed also.

The stages and obstacles looked eXcelleNT. I can't wait to get to Rover Park and I can't wait for WEROCK either.

Not that long ago I thought Aussie 4x4 Rock was going to be a short lived dream, now I know it is going to survive.

To everyone that had anything to do with this event, WELL DONE!

Slow and steady but at least I finally have some pictures to share.
Tony hope you are up and annoying as normal :P . Was a great day and I am glad I didn't witness your nasty roll. I get cranky when people cheer unaware of the catastrophy within. But then again we appreciate your pains in providing us a spectacular show. ;)

Congratulations!

and well done everyone!

Congratulations to all! miranda and I were in the thick of it and I have some great shots of Matt Pisani trying to crush me. The event was awesome, the crowd was into it and the venue was spot on.

First up on 4wd TV will be a focus on Adrian and his buggy and a promo for WeRock...which it looks like we will be back with Shane Barlow to film again. Can't wait!

I am also hoping that the infamous Pete Kincade will be there with his new rock toy. I have seen this thing in the building and can't wait to see it in action. All of this is great for Aussie rock crawling!
