Hilux centres again... what ratio

Post by takearidewifme »

Hey guys...
First post here but have been looking for a few weeks... some good info onboard..
Anyway Ive got a 79 rangie and am going to do the hilux centres thing and was wondering what would be a good ratio for running 35s or maybe bigger... would rather be slower and more torque than too high and underpowered. What is a common good ratio and what should i expect to pay for the centres... would like to hear from those who have done it to get their opinion...

Thanks
Mark

I think 4.3 brings you back to standard gearing on 35's and 4.1 on 33's.

4.1 also happens to be LC80, and 4.3 LC100 front Hi pinion diffs which you will need. I think the rears are Surf parts.

Plus cost of used centers housings with R&P and a lockers. Not much point keeping open diffs.

And Longfield Chromo CVs $405USD plus shipping. Not much point doing this and keeping stock Rover or Toy CVs.

Machine and drill pinion flanges.
